Formed in 1988, as a haven for nude artschool models, and disenfranchized guitarists, LUXURY CHRIST is unabashedly living up to the reputation of its frontman (ex- Butthole Surfer), Trevor Malcolm. Trevor who was dubbed in Spin as the most hated man in America, left the buttholes in the mid 80's to return home and form LUXURY CHRIST.
Members Robert Brun and Mark Gelinas, provide the rhythm thru their drums and bass, while Mark Sikich hits things he's found. Along with the vocals of Nancy Drew, they have secured a place among the true sound terrorists of the 90's and beyond. Combining high energy guitar power "bereft of reason" pop inventiveness, LUXURY CHRIST project a sensibility somewhere between Th'Faith Healers and Gallon Drunk and Abba and The Residents.
Developed throughout and extensive period of live performances, LUXURY CHRIST have built a following that has taken them from local coffee houses to tours of Canada and U.S. cities. Anyone who has seen LUXURY CHRIST will attest to their anic-funtruckin' show sense; all of their gigs are consistently different. Currently they are in studio with Mike Clark (INSANE CLOWN POSSE) completing their latest project due for release fall 1988.
